I want you to know that I am absolutely loving the mentorship program at The Wisdom Academy. I believe mentorship is the way of the future. It allows for a concentrated focus on subject matter that directly relates to a person’s current work and life experience.  While I have studied at colleges and various other places, I always felt that while I had gained knowledge, I was often left unsure of how I would actually apply that knowledge in the real world. Mentorship bridges the gap between academic knowledge and the embodied experience of that knowledge in action.  This is what you offer me, a way for me to learn, and then apply what I have learned from you immediately in my work.  There is no price you can place on a learning experience such as that.

I love your feedback to the work we do together (and that is a very important point, I feel it is a collaborative effort).  You never make me feel “stupid” or that my ideas are crazy.  You gently point me into alternative viewpoints and offer suggestions.  Very few people I have ever met (besides my father-in-law) have this gift.  And it is a gift you have. I am very proud to say I am working with you in mentorship and to call myself one of your clients and students. Thank you!

I can’t begin to tell you how delighted I feel to have the ability to write to you. I’m beyond delighted. I don’t know the word for what I feel about the meaningful and caring responses you send. This is literally priceless to me.  My husband and I were talking and he mentioned, “Wouldn’t it have been great if we could have sent Carl Sagan or David Bohm a letter and have been able to have a dialogue with them?” It hit me then: You are like them to us.  There is no one else we know who can challenge our perspective of the world, and that is what we want.  Maybe “challenge” is not the right word. But someone who can take our perspective deeper and help us know more deeply. It feels like taking words, concepts and all of this abstract thought, and sending it to the very core and essence of our beings as something tangible. It feels like we are making what previously seemed unconscious, conscious again and fully aware of the beauty of its surroundings. The knowing that comes from simply being connected to everything around you, even your thoughts and world-view.

I am an avid fan of Christian de Quincey. I love thinking about life on the biggest scale possible, can’t help but ask a million questions about it, and in all my searching, Dr. de Quincey has provided the most wholly satisfying answers and led me in the most promising directions—by far!!!!  Thank you for existing.

Christian de Quincey has an uncanny ability to use language with the precision of a Swiss watchmaker. He has consistently been able to nurture my understanding and insight in areas of existential mystery that humanity has grappled with for ages. He is masterful with modern philosophy as well as its origins, and uses that breadth and depth of knowledge to provide precisely the right context to see problems in their true light.
